Evelyn L. (Ogorzalek) Schmidt

Evelyn L. (Ogorzalek) Schmidt, 84 died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Chicopee to the late John and Elizabeth (Rogus) Ogozalek, she lived in Hampden for 43 years. She worked as a receptionist for the Friendly Ice Cream Corporate Office, served as secretary for the Hampden Advisory Board, worked the Voting Polls for the Town of Hampden, and had previously worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Erich A. Schmidt on May 30, 2014. She will be sadly missed by two sons; John I. Brennan and his wife Claire, Scott Brennan and his wife Marcia, two daughters; Elizabeth Brennan-Magdalenski and her husband James Magdalenski, Karin Schmidt, brother John Ogorzalek, and four grandchildren; Kelly, Brandon, Heather and Julian. Evelyn�s Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 10:00 � 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Old Cemetery, Hampden.
