Obituary
Ellen J. (Palmer) Sambrook, 76, died peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Born in Springfield to the late James and Bertille (Duval) Palmer, she worked for many years at Mass Mutual Life Insurance Co. Upon retirement, she worked as a seamstress for the former Hampshire Taylor Co. in Holyoke. Ellen enjoyed gardening, and she shared her love of knitting, crocheting and painting with others by teaching classes at Joanne’s for many years. One of Ellen’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children; James Sambrook and his wife Beth of King George, VA and Kate McMinn and her husband Roger of Monson, sister Louise Tavino of Suffield, CT, five cherished grandchildren; Sean and Aidan McMinn, Andrea, Natalie and Evan Sambrook and her former husband Michael Sambrook (Pat). Family and friends may gather for Ellen’s Funeral Service on Friday, April 8th at 12:30 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow. Visitation will precede the Funeral Service from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home.
