Elizabeth A. (Hennessey) Schube

Elizabeth A. (Hennessey) Schube, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2015. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Irene (Corcoran) Hennessey. Raised in Ludlow, MA, she graduated from Ludlow High School in 1947 and Our Lady of the Elms College, class of 1951. She was a beloved teacher in both Holy Cross School in Springfield and the Springfield School System. Known to friends and family as �Betty,� she was an accomplished soloist who sang at Holy Cross Church and in the Springfield Symphony Chorus, as well as many other singing groups throughout her life. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital for seven years and read to children in many area elementary schools. She was a member of the Holy Cross Women�s Club and later a member of Parish Council at St. Mary�s Church in Longmeadow. Betty loved reading, shopping and decorating her home for the holidays, as well as spending time with family and special friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Edward G. Schube in 2011 and her dear grandson Nathan J. Burson in 2013. Devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, she leaves her daughter Mary E. Gray and her husband Brian of East Longmeadow, son William E. Schube of Westfield, daughters; Suzanne M. Schube of Palmer and Carolyn M. Burson and her husband John of Monson, sister in law and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jenks of Feeding Hills, beloved grandchildren; Andrew G. Gray and his wife Amber of Monson, Peter A. Gray of East Longmeadow and Abigail E. Burson of Monson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Betty�s Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary�s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
