Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” (Green) Howe, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. She was born in Springfield to the late Frank and Alice (Thackeray) Green and lived her whole life in East Longmeadow. She worked at Package Machinery Company in East Longmeadow and sold Avon products for many years. A devout Christian, Betty was very involved in the First Baptist Church in East Longmeadow where she sang in the choir and loved listening to and singing hymns. She also loved flowers and all animals, especially her cats. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Howe, in 2007 and her brothers, Albert Green and Dorrance T. Green. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Green Engel of Randolph, VT, and nieces and nephews: Pamela Green Pearson of Wilbraham, MA, Keith Green of Sherman, CT, Lois Engel Gowen of Newmarket, NH, and Glenn Engel III of Randolph, VT.
Elizabeth’s Funeral Service will be on August 15, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Visitation will precede the service from 11:00–11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 50 Parker Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
