Elizabeth B. (Barnes) Carpenter

Elizabeth �Bette� Carpenter, 89, died peacefully, surrounded by her family,�on Friday, April 28, 2017. Born in North Attleborough to the late Aldrich and Elizabeth (Rhodes) Barnes, she was a longtime Wilbraham resident. She received her Associate Degree from Colby Junior College (now Colby- Sawyer College) in New London, NH and was a member of the Eastern Star. An avid bridge player and a volunteer librarian in the Wilbraham public schools for many years, Bette also belonged to the Forget-Me-Nots. Bette was predeceased by her husband Leon G. Carpenter in 2007. She will be sadly missed by her three children: Dr. Wayne Carpenter and his wife Cari of Wilbraham, David Carpenter and his wife Pamela of Worthington and Beth Carpenter Brett and her husband Chet of Chester, five grandchildren: Sarah James and her husband Ryan, Sam Carpenter, Camilla Brett, Maddy and Thomas Carpenter and one great grandson Louie James. Bette�s Memorial Service will be on Friday, May 12th at 11:00am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
