Obituary
Eleanor “Ellie” (Keroack) Mumford, 93, passed away November 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Palmer, December 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Shea) Keroack. Eleanor was a graduate of the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing. Over her decades long career as a Registered Nurse, Ellie cared for many patients at Springfield Hospital, Wing Memorial, and Wesson Memorial. She completed her nursing career as one of the early Utilization Review Specialists at Medical West. She was a respected RN who truly loved caring for others. Ellie was always busy and never sat still as there was always something to fix, or someone who needed help. When the call came, she jumped into action. She loved her family and her husband, Bob, who she was rarely apart from over their 69 years of marriage. In addition to her beloved husband Bob, she leaves behind her loving children, Kyle Mumford (Linda), of Bonita Springs, FL, Kristin Mumford (Kevin), of West Dover, VT and Kara Healey of Bonita Springs, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Brendan, Ryan, Brenna and Matthew and great grandchildren, Cole and Harrison. She was predeceased by her son Kerwin Mumford, earlier this year; and her siblings, Eileen Keegan, and Alvin Keroack. The family wishes to thank Ellie’s kind and hardworking caregivers; Yadi, Mei, Gina, Katie, Rozzy, Rosie, Valerie, Melissa and Anne Marie from Pioneer Valley Homecare; and the attentive healthcare professionals at Baystate Medical Center and Baystate Hospice. The Funeral will be held Friday, November 18, 10AM, from the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd, Wilbraham followed by a Mass at 12 Noon at St. Michael’s Church, East Longmeadow, where Ellie and Bob were faithful communicants. Burial will follow in the Mass. Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours are 3-7 PM, Thursday, November 17, at the Wilbraham Funeral Home.
