Obituary
Elaine K. Brooks, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 26,2021 at the Life Care Center in Wilbraham, MA. She was born in West Orange, NJ to Charles and Viola Kurz. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1955 and worked in the banking and insurance fields. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Brooks, in 2014. They married in 1958 and lived in Essex Fells, NJ for many years. They retired to Cape Cod and enjoyed 20 years there. Elaine loved to garden and was a member of the garden club in Orleans, MA. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Chivers and son-in-law David of Wilbraham, MA, son Thomas Brooks of Dartmouth, MA, and grandsons, Nathaniel and Adam Chivers. A burial service will take place in the spring at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
