Longtime Wilbraham resident, Elaine Rose (Neumann) King, 94, died peacefully on April 12th at Chestnut Hill Nursing Home. Born in Rockville, CT to the late Leon and Rose (Nolan) Neumann, Elaine was a beloved teacher at the former Happy Hill Nursery School in Wilbraham for 18 years, retiring in 1984. After retirement, she worked for many years as a greeter at Wilbraham Funeral Home. She was a faithful and active communicant of St. Cecilia Church where she was a lector and a member of the choir. A charter member and past president of St. Cecilia Women’s Club, she received the Lady of Good Counsel Award, was a member and vice president of Senior Connection and chaired the St. Cecilia Loaves & Fishes committee for 15 years. Elaine was also a member of the Wilbraham Women’s Club and their choral group, Wilbraham Young at Heart Club and Friends of Wilbraham Seniors. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing and bowling. Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband George B. King in 2009. She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses; Joyce and Hal Flynn of Wendell, MA, Ron and Maureen King of Millbrook, NY, Ed and Patty King of Wilbraham, MA, Cindy and Lloyd Chadbourne III of New Salem, MA, Gary King and Tessa Atwood of Wilmington, VT, and 11 cherished grandchildren; Daniel and Shanley King, Kelsey and Darcy Flynn, Michael King, Allison DellaRovere and Angela Craig, Cara Vickers and Lloyd Chadbourne IV, Sawyer and Grady King, and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Elaine’s Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:00AM at St. Cecilia Church. Burial will take place privately for the family in Woodland Dell Cemetery.
