Our Lord called Ed safely home on August 19,2015, after a brief illness. He was bom in Springfield, MA, the son of Roy A. and Winifred Walker Sunter. He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Technical High School. He served his country in the US Army in WWII in the occupation of Japan. He then attended the School of Forestry at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst campus. He enjoyed a 25 year career with Sears & Roebuck as a leading appliance salesman. After Sears, he had a second, successful sales career in automobile sales with Beaulieu Chevrolet and then as an automobile wholesaler. His final occupation was as a registry runner for small automobile dealers, which lasted the rest of his life. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, carving duck and bird decoys, golfing, fishing and many other outdoor activities. He was a member of The Elks Club in Springfield, the East Longmeadow K of C, and East Longmeadow ITAM. He was predeceased by his loving wife Sheila A. Matthews Sunter, his brother, Roy A. Sunter, his son Matthew W. Sunter and his grandson, Bryan A. Sunter. He leaves behind, three sons, Edward P. Sunter, Jr. and his wife Robin, Stephen M. Sunter, and David D. Sunter, all of East Longmeadow, MA and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Maynard of Arlington, VA, a sister, Barbara Campion, of Yarmouthport, MA and a sister-in-law, Mary Sunter of New Hampshire. He is also survived by three grandchildren. Brendan E. Sunter and Brady M. Sunter of East Longmeadow, MA and Lara C. Sunter of Arlington, VA. Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, the 27th of August at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd. Wilbraham, MA. The funeral mass is at 10:00 a.m. on Friday the 28th of August at St. Michael�s Catholic Church, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, MA., followed by burial at St. Michael�s Cemetery, 1601 State Street in Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made to the Bryan Sunter Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Mark Ahmed, 9 Wellington Drive, East Longmeadow, 01028.
