Obituary
Edith C. Buckley, 93, passed away Sat. May 26, 2018. She was born Dec. 19, 1924 to the late John and Mildred Newell. Edith received her B.S. from Springfield College and her R.N. from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of East Longmeadow United Methodist Church, a member of their choir, women’s club and was active on many church boards. Edith was also a member of the Springfield College Alumni Association, the E. Long. Garden Club and Senior Center. She also served as president of the Rockridge Retirement Home Auxiliary in Northampton, MA. Edith was predeceased by her husband John Buckley in 2000. She was also predeceased by her brothers Dana Newell and Jack Newell and her sister Barbara Larch. Edith leaves several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Sun. June 3rd at 12 Noon in East Longmeadow United Methodist Church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the E. Long United Methodist Church, Scholarship Fund, 215 Somers Rd., E. Long, MA, 01028 or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Spfld, MA 01104.
