Donna Lee (Brazee) Sherer’s long and courageous battle with cancer and kidney failure ended on May 18, 2024. Donna was born in Springfield, MA in 1949. She was educated in the Springfield school system, graduating with honors in 1967 from Classical High School. She worked for Casual Corner, Sears and Mass Mutual, then moved with her husband to Acton, MA, then Winchester, Hampshire, UK before settling down in Wilbraham, MA in 1987. At that time, Donna accepted a position she thoroughly enjoyed as an assistant news editor on the Asian Wall Street Journal.
Donna was a brilliant person, a voracious reader, loved fashion, delighted in the ocean and enjoyed getting together with friends. Her passion was travel, having visited three dozen foreign countries.
Donna was predeceased by her mother, Viola Brazee, her father, Alfred Brazee and her beloved sisters-in-law Deborah DiPerna and Carol Martin. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 40 years, Thomas Sherer, sisters-in-law Diane Augusty, Janice Cerra and Jeanne Hines, her sister, Rose Spada and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Donna and Tom were extremely grateful for the help and support provided by family and friends during the trying final period of Donna’s life.
