Dolores L. (Connaughton) Monteiro

Dolores L. Monteiro passed away on May 6, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on June 2, 1940 in Springfield to the late Albert and Doris (Gormbley) Connaughton. She leaves her loving husband Tony Monteiro of Indian Orchard; three sons Ronald DeSellier of Ludlow, David DeSellier of Springfield and Tony Monteiro of Montgomery; four daughters Sue Butler and her husband Bowdie of Greenfield, Patty Muir and her husband Dave of Belchertown, Luisa Pagnoni of Chicopee and Lori Charette and her husband Joe of Springfield; two brothers Ronald Connaughton and his wife Barbara of Ludlow and Dougie Connaughton and his wife Eleanor of Springfield; four sisters in law Mary Coelho, Zora Gonsalves, Simone Monteiro and Helen DeSellier; two brothers in law Richard Langevin and Henry DeSellier; twelve grandchildren Jackie, Mike, Sara, Ryan, Alyssa, Chelsey, Jennifer, Justin, Shauna, Tyler, Tony and Adam and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers James and Robert Connaughton, two sisters Patricia Gallagher and Gail Langevin, brother in law Armand Monteiro and sister in law Luisa Monteiro. Dolores worked for T&S Cleaning for 16 years. Dolores loved sports. She coached girls softball, basketball, and soccer for Ward 6 in Chicopee for many years. She was so passionate about watching soccer and college basketball on tv that everyone knew to leave her alone at those times. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards and going out for breakfast with her friends and family. Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Baystate Medical Center for the great care that they gave Dolores. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home 2551 Boston Rd. Wilbraham, MA. Burial will be private.
