Deborah L. (Faulkner) Mason, 75, peacefully entered the realm of immortality on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Alexandria, VA as a result of the union between the late Jim and Bessie (Taylor) Faulkner.
Deby (as she was affectionately known by family and friends) was educated in the Alexandria Public School System. Upon graduating from TC Williams High School in 1968 she furthered her education by attending Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated in 1973 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from college, Deby moved to Boston, Massachusetts and began her career as an elementary school teacher.
She began teaching elementary school in the Boston Public School System in 1974 and during that time earned her Masters Degree in Education from Leslie College in Cambridge Massachusetts. After molding and shaping young minds, she retired from the Boston Public School System after 38 years.
In December 1972, Deby married Douglas Mason. As a result of this marriage a daughter, Ashley Taylor Mason was born. In turn, Ashley blessed them with a grandson, Chase Mason Bernier. Deby loved life and spending time with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and often showed herself to be the life of the party.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was predeceased by three sisters; Brenda Faulkner, Gail Foster and Beverly Laury and one brother Jimmy Mack Faulkner. She will be sorely missed by her beloved daughter Ashley Taylor Mason of Boston, MA, sister Denise Faulkner of Oxon Hill, MD as well as her cherished grandson Chase Mason Bernier. She is also survived by a host of cousins, (1) niece, (1) nephew, (2) great nieces (3) great nephews as well as her former husband. Douglas Mason of Boston.
Deborah’s Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wilbraham Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
