Obituary
David Karl Ritchie, 80, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Merrill and Irene (Schadee) Ritchie, he was a proud Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration from American International College. He was a Forms Analyst for Hamilton Standard for 28 years. Most recently he worked as a driver for Peter Pan Bus Lines and as a school bus driver. A member of East Longmeadow United Methodist Church, Dave was also a Mason of the Meadows Lodge in East Longmeadow and a Shriner. David was predeceased by his longtime companion Linda J. Krause. He is survived by his son Scott Ritchie and his wife Paula Johnson of Conway, SC, daughter Sara Cronk and her husband James Cronk of Granby, step children Alison J. Krause and Brandon S. Krause, both of Springfield, brother Wendell Ritchie of Springfield, four grandchildren Steven and Luke Ritchie, Marley Johnson and Chet Hartman and niece Sharon Ritchie and nephew Paul Ritchie and his wife Michelle. Calling hours will be held Monday, August 3rd from 5 – 7 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. A private burial with Military Honors will be held at MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
