David P. Deziel, 69, a longtime Chicopee resident died on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by the amazing cardiac team. Born in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of the late Leo P. and Lorraine (LeBel) Deziel. He worked at the Uniroyal plant in Chicopee as well as various other truck driving jobs. Dave was quite a character and loved talking and telling stories with anyone who would listen. He was fascinated by history, he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. His favorite outing was a drive in the country on his Harley. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them as well as his kitty, Jenny. David is survived by his loving children: Lisa A. Daponte and her husband Michael of East Longmeadow and John D. Deziel and his wife Ashlee of Hampden. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Nicholas, Rachel, Leo and Ryan. He also leaves his brother Richard Deziel and his wife Lyn-Laeh of Hyde Park, VT and his beloved aunt Cris LeBel of South Hadley, niece Jessica Deziel and his nephew Adam Deziel. All services are private. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Second Chance Community Veterinary Hospital, 67 Mulberry St., Springfield, MA 01105.
