Cosbi J. (Carpenter) Hinman, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Birch Gardens in Chicopee. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, she was daughter of the late Burleigh and Beryl (Stevens) Carpenter. She attended McIndoes Academy in McIndoe Falls, VT before moving to this area at the age of 18. She worked for many years for Chapman Valve Company, retiring from Western New England University. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, she also loved dogs, knitting, puzzles, country music and, above all, spending time with her family. Cosbi was predeceased by her husband C. Paul Hinman in 1990. She is survived by her children; Paula J. Pendergrass and her husband Joe of Argyle, NY, Carole A. Robbins and her husband Fred of Ware and David A. Hinman and his wife Kathryn of Springfield, brother Fred Carpenter, five grandchildren; Amanda Pendergrass, Jonathan and Anna Hinman, Corey and Taylor Robbins and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her two sisters; Pauline Holmberg and Marion Sheppard. Cosbi�s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 12:00 Noon at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. An hour of visitation will precede the Service from 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
