Obituary
Clifford D. Noreen, 87, a longtime East Longmeadow resident died on Friday, April 3, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Everett, MA, he was the son of the late Clifford E. and Madeline (Small) Noreen. He was a graduate of Everett High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Bentley College. Cliff began his career working in accounting and finance positions at Stop & Shop in Boston. He moved his family to Western Mass in 1972 and worked at Waldbaum’s Food Mart as Vice President – Finance from 1972 – 1987, and Abdow Corporation, retiring as Vice President of Finance after 10 years. In his limited free time, he enjoyed sailing and his time at Cape Cod. Cliff was an active communicant of St. Michael’s Church and served on the parish council and as administrator of the Finance Committee for over 20 years. He was also a board member of Child and Family Services. He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary (Hallisey) Noreen, three sons; Clifford M. (Ellen) of Boston, Paul E. (Vicki) of Sacramento, CA, and David J. (Amy) of Marston Mills, MA, one daughter, Patricia Carpenter (Bob) of Rowley, MA, five grandchildren; Lauren DeLuca, Eric Noreen, Luke (Grace) Noreen, Collin Noreen and Abigail Mary Noreen, three great grandchildren, Adalyn, Alina and Luke Henry, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Cliff was also predeceased by his sister Doris Teehan. A Private Funeral Service for the family will be held at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, followed by burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. The Noreen family is grateful to Helen Murphy Avis and her team at Murphy Avis Assisted Living Services of East Longmeadow and to the Baystate Hospice staff for their professional and compassionate care of Cliff.
