Christopher John “CJ” Cronin, 20, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. He was a 2022 graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and was a 3 sport varsity athlete, receiving All-Western Mass honors in football. CJ was in his Junior year at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston. He was a Marketing major with a minor in Film. During his Freshman year, CJ traveled abroad to attend the University of Glasgow in Scotland, where he was also a member of the Men’s Varsity Basketball team. Passionate about film and comedy, CJ acted in and directed several student films and had aspirations to work in Hollywood someday. He also would frequent local “open mic” nights in Boston comedy clubs to perform stand-up and worked at “Laugh Boston”. CJ attended St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham and dearly loved his family, friends and animals, especially his dogs Lulu and Frankie. CJ loved to travel and was blessed to see so many places in his young life including Scotland, Ireland, England, Italy, LA and much of the US as part of a cross-country road trip with his friends. He was an incredibly thoughtful and caring son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend who loved nothing more than to make people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Words cannot express how much CJ will be missed by his parents Christopher F. and Pamela (Gonski) Cronin and his two sisters; Molly and Kelly Cronin, all of Wilbraham, his maternal grandparents; Katy and Joseph Gonski of Florence, caring aunts and uncles; Kristen Sheridan (Pat) of Franklin, MA, Kate Diemand (Dan) of South Deerfield, Betsy Kramer (Dennis), Jack Cronin of Holyoke and Karen Connor of Northampton. CJ also leaves 13 close cousins; Marie, Nolan, Danny, Judy, Phil, Maeve, Andy, Tyler, Griff, Tara, Matt, Shaun, and Alexis, as well as his great uncle John Johnson and great aunts Judy Johnson and Mary Galvin. He will also be missed by numerous friends across Western MA, Boston and Scotland. CJ was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Judy Cronin, formerly of Northampton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for CJ’s Funeral Mass on Friday at 11: 00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 235 N. Elm St., Northampton.
