Chet F. Grondalski

It is with great sadness that we
share the passing of a wonderful
man, husband, father, grandfather, great
grandfather and friend, Chet F.
Grondalski. Chet passed away
peacefully on July 25, 2023 in
the loving care of his daughter.
Chet was the devoted husband
of 71 years to the love of his
life, Phyllis, who predeceased
him in 2021. He was also
predeceased by his parents,
Frank and Julia Grondalski,
his brother Lou Grondalski,
his sister Irene Bednarz and
his son in law Chet Kapinos.
He leaves behind to cherish
all the good times, his devoted
daughter, Claudia Kapinos,
his loving grandchildren,
Corrie Marino (Peter), Robb
Kapinos (Tiffany), and his
great grandchildren, Joseph,
Madison, and Teddy for whom
he was a fearless cheerleader,
his sister Lorraine Kovalchek
and many nieces, nephews and
friends.
Chet was a lifetime
communicant of Immaculate
Conception Church where he
volunteered as an Extraordinary
Minister of the Holy Eucharist
and Parish Council. He was
an outstanding athlete and
enjoyed many years playing golf
at Ludlow Country Club and
Westover Country Club. He
spent many happy days on the
Rhode Island shores and local
streams fishing with his buddy,
Chris Bolek.
Family and friends are
invited to MEET AT CHURCH
for Chet’s Liturgy of Christian
Burial on Friday, July 28 at 11:00
AM at Immaculate Conception
Church, Indian Orchard.
Calling hours will be Friday, July
28 from 9 AM until 10:15 AM
at Wilbraham Funeral Home,
2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. A
private family burial will be held
at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to Immaculate
Conception Church, 25 Parker
St., Indian Orchard, MA 01151.
The family lovingly thanks the
staff and residents of Orchard
Valley, where Chet made so
many friends, and the dedicated
staff of Spectrum Hospice Care
who comforted him and his
family.
