Cherrie Martin

Cherrie (Putnam) Martin, 81, died peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2024 at JGS Lifecare in Longmeadow, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Springfield to the late Errol and Bertha (Conant) Putnam, Cherrie worked as an Executive Manager at Bay State Gas Co. until her retirement.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother who sacrificed much and always put her children first.
Cherrie was eager to listen and support with a loving, non judgmental heart when someone needed to talk. Those who knew her got to experience her profound kindness, patience and generosity. Her friends and family will miss all the fun gatherings playing cards and dominoes together.
Cherrie will be sadly missed by her daughters Traci Hopkins of Palmer and Kimberly Anderson of Chicopee. She is now reunited with her daughter Suzanne Martin who predeceased her in 1976.
Cherrie’s graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 20th at 11AM in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield. Wilbraham Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
