Chase Michael Goncalves
February 2, 2024 – August 25, 2024
“Dearest baby, please know that our greatest blessing was having you.”
Chase Michael Goncalves, our beloved infant son, passed away in the arms of family after an extremely brief and devastating illness. Chase was a gift from the moment he was born, and he and his mother together endured a hard pregnancy to safely make it into this world. Chase always had a smile on his face, especially for his big brother Jack. His face would light up with joy when his father gave him motorcycle rides on his knee or his mother cuddled up with him to nurse him (their favorite time together). Chase was happiest at his Grandma and Bumpa’s house taking walks around their development, meeting all the neighbors, and relaxing on his play mat in the back yard. His favorite day of the week was Sunday when he got to have Sunday supper with his whole family at his Mimi and Vovo’s house and learn “Palminhas”. Chase loved to be outside in nature – feet in the sand, toes in the water or watching the trees sway in the wind. We would joke how fast he was going to be with his adorable, kicking legs. The hole left in our hearts will never be filled. We had so many dreams for his life.
Chase was loved beyond measure by his parents Mike Goncalves and Lindsay Robillard and big brother Jack Goncalves. He was able to spend and create beautiful memories with his four amazing grandparents: Robert and Paulette Robillard of Ludlow and Joaquim and Aida Goncalves of Agawam. His godparents Joshua and Meghan Brodeur of Wilbraham and their sons Cameron and Weston Brodeur simply adored Chase, as he adored them. Chase’s uncle Ryan Robillard of Delray Beach, FL and his family – Cassandra McIntyre and Griffyn and Ada Robillard could not wait to meet his sweet face. He also leaves behind his aunt Gorete Goncalves and her son Nizaiah Goncalves. He was loved by many extended aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.
Chase will always remain his entire family’s precious baby and they will hold him again in heaven one day. “For this child we prayed.”
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4th from 9-10:30 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Chase’s Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Reservoir Cemetery, Ludlow.
