Charles E. Jobbins, 78, entered into eternal rest on July 22, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and best friend at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, he was the eldest child of the late Edward and Violet (Nesbitt) Jobbins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Edgar and two sisters Ann and Cecile. Charlie is survived by his sister Paula Calvert of Bloomfield KY, his brother William Jobbins (Cheri) of East Longmeadow, and his sister Violette Giammarino (Mark) of Springfield. He also leaves six nieces, several cousins and best friend Richard Lockwood. As a graduate from Technical High School, Charlie was the recipient of the Westinghouse Award for his mechanical talents. After graduation he was employed by Christian Tool Co. He then went on to serve in the US Navy aboard the USS Epping Forest. Charlie spent much of his career as a transmission specialist employed by his dad in the family business, Ed Jobbins and Sons Auto Electric, the Springfield Police Dept. as a mechanic and many years self-employed. He was a member of the Navy reserve as a Seabee. He also volunteered many weekends traveling to Quincy, MA participating in the restoration of the USS Salem CA-139. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 30th at 11:30 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. There will be a visiting hour from 10:30 � 11:30 am preceding the service at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 pm at MA Veteran�s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
