Charles C. Genza

Charles C. Genza, 82, died peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Sixteen Acres Healthcare Center. Born in Springfield to the late Rudolph F. and Grace E. (Hall) Genza, he was a graduate of the former Springfield Trade High School. He worked as a public safety officer at the University of MA in Amherst for many years until his retirement. An avid Red Sox fan and outdoorsman, Charles enjoyed bowling, NASCAR and the music of Elvis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary A. (Collins) Genza, their son Charles M. Genza and his wife Tina of Wilbraham and two cherished granddaughters; Ashley Genza and Jessica (Jose) Gonzalez, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was also predeceased by his infant son Rudolph Peter Genza in 1963. Charles’ Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 10:30 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham followed by burial in Four Corners Cemetery, Palmer. Visitation will precede the Service from 9-10:30 AM at Wilbraham Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
