Bruce R. Atkinson

Bruce Robert Atkinson, born 10/26/1947, born again 9/19/1998, departed this life on 10/6/2023, at the age of 75, to a divine appointment with fellowship with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Bruce’s favorite verse of the Bible to live life as a believer was Psalm 25, verses four and five:
“Make me know Your ways, O Yahweh; Teach me Your paths.”
“Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; In You I hope all the day.”
Bruce was very active in expressing his love to his Savior through the media ministry at First Baptist Church and the Springfield Rescue Mission by expressing the love of Christ to the homeless.
Whenever Bruce gave a testimony of his salvation he was moved to tears, song, and praise that God purchased his soul with the blood of His Son.
Bruce leaves his church family at First Baptist Church in East Longmeadow where he was a member for approximately 25 years. A Celebration Service of Bruce’s life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 50 Parker Street, East Longmeadow. Wilbraham Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Bruce also leaves his ex wife Sandra M. Wendt of Greendale, WI and sister Kaye A. Wickenberg of Dousman, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Rescue Mission, PO Box 9045, Springfield, MA 01102-9045.
