Bonnie Blanche (Brown) Foulis

Mrs. Bonnie Blanche (Brown) Foulis of Belchertown, MA, formerly of Panama City, FL, died at age 80 on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. She was a loving and tirelessly supportive mother to David Foulis and wife Michelle of Sturbridge, Dean Foulis and wife Jill Martyn of Cambridge, Scott Foulis and wife Jill of Wilbraham, and the late Nicholas Loukopoulos of Panama City, FL, and doting grandmother to Rose, Grace, Chelsea, Evan, and Colin Foulis. She was the cherished sister of Joann Register, Joann�s late husband Benny Register, and her partner Jimmy Kent of Panama City, FL; Bart Brown, Jr. of Carriere, MS; and Linda Gambrell and husband Ron of Panama City, FL; and a devoted daughter to the late Bart W. and Mary Brown of Panama City, FL. She remained particularly close to her family in Florida and beyond, including her former husbands Loukas Loukopoulos and David Foulis and his wife Hyla, her late aunt Wilma (Billie) Haddock Maddox, her cousins, and her many wonderful nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a resourceful and independent person whose spirit of adventure took her from Florida to Michigan and eventually to Massachusetts. She found her calling in her job as matron at Belchertown Junior-Senior High School for more than 20 years, where she served as a surrogate mother to many students and contributed her own time and money to plant copious flowers each spring so the school would be beautiful for graduation. Coworkers referred to her fondly as the �Cajun Queen.� In retirement she continued to follow with interest the lives of many former students in addition to lavishing gifts and attention on her grandchildren and tending a magnificent garden at her home. Family and friends will gather for a service of love and remembrance on Wednesday, February 17, in Alford, FL. The family will also invite friends to gather for a service in her memory in Massachusetts at a later date. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, donations in support of the local meals on wheels program may be made out to the Town of Belchertown, Belchertown Senior Center, 60 State Street, Belchertown, MA 01007.
