Bhupinder Singh Bahal – known to all as “Bunty” – left this world far too soon on January 29, 2024, at 55 years old. Bunty had a larger-than-life presence, both because he was the tallest person in any room and because of his kind heart and deep love for his family.
Bunty was born in Punjab, India, in 1968. After his father, Rupinder, died when Bunty was a young boy, Bunty and his sister, Sapna, were raised by their mother and grandparents, Rajinder Singh (“Pitaji”) and Swaran Kaur (“Mataji”). At the age of 16, Bunty came to visit his uncle and family in the United States. They welcomed him with open arms, and Bunty never left, becoming a United States citizen. Shortly after graduating from Salem State College, Bunty moved to Western Massachusetts and began working for Verizon, where he spent the remainder of his career.
Bunty was the life of every party. He was the first and the happiest to celebrate his family’s big events, but he was also the one his family knew they could count on in hard times. His family will fondly remember their funniest moments with Bunty, including his mail truck, totaled cars, leaf-blowing antics, pool and barbeque parties, apple fritters, and so much more.
Bunty leaves behind his loving and heart-broken family, including twin daughters, Morgan and Madison Bahal; mother, Tripta Bahal; sister and brother-in-law, Sapna and Bunty Sood, and their children, Riya and Curen Sood. He also leaves behind other family members, who by blood relation would be uncle, aunt, and cousins, but, in all the truest sense, were father, second mother, and siblings, including his “chacha,” Arvinder Bahal, and his wife, Pam; “brother,” Sukhi Bahal, and his wife, Charlotte, and their four children, Lincoln, Pierson (Bunty’s godson), Sofia, and Jasper; and “sister,” Tasha Bahal, and her husband, Kevin Doyle, and their children, Quinton and Indira Doyle. Bunty also leaves behind too many friends and loved ones to name individually but whose life benefited from just knowing Bunty.
Bunty’s family loves him and will miss him immensely. They take grace and support in each other and in knowing that Bunty will again be with his father, Pitaji, and Mataji.
Visiting hours will be held from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham.
