Beverly June (Rousseau) Beston, 87, died on April 7, 2016, after a two-year battle with multiple myeloma. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Edwin R. Beston, who passed in 2010. A life-long resident of Springfield, she lived in her home in Sixteen Acres for over 60 years. She leaves a son, Bruce E. Beston and his wife, Lorraine of Westfield, and a daughter, Lori Beston of Springfield. She also leaves her very adored grandchildren, Jason Beston, Victoria Carter, and Raphaella Dupras as well as a great-grandson, Jaxen Dupras. Beverly worked various accounting jobs until she and her husband adopted their two children. She became a doting mother who volunteered as a girl-scout leader, a librarian in her childrens schools and attended every sporting event with her husband in which her children were involved, which were many. There were always two lawn chairs in the trunk of their cars. Beverly was a founding parent of the Willie Ross School for the Deaf, advocating for quality education for the hearing impaired. Beverly and Edwin had a Summer place in Wells, Maine and went every year for over a decade from May to October and considered themselves part-time residents of Maine, often complaining about the tourists. Beverly loved animals and had several dogs and cats throughout her lifetime, but her favorite was a very spoiled pitbull named Ernie whom she adopted from a shelter when no one else would take him (much to her husbands surprise). Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 2:00 4:00 pm at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Burial will be at a later date at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas J. OConnor Animal Control and Adoption Ctr., 627 Cottage St., Spfld., MA 01119 or to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Spfld., MA 01104.
