Beverly A.
Presz
May 11, 1944 – May 9, 2026
Beverly Ann Presz, a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on May 9, 2026. Beverly was born in Wilbraham, MA, in 1944 to Edmond and Nellie (Diotalevi) Trombley. She graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in 1962 and Kay Harvey Hairdressing Academy in 1963. She met her husband and best friend, Walter, at his 16th birthday party in 1959. They married in 1964 and had three sons: Walter III (Michael), Edmond, and Thomas. Together for 67 years, Bev and Walt led a wonderful and exciting life raising the three boys, enjoying them, watching them grow up, partying with them and their many friends, playing softball with them and traveling all over the country to college baseball and hockey games. Beverly was a wonderful mother, always there to help and guide her three boys into manhood. She was also an adoring Nana to her seven grandchildren, giving them both love and amusement. She was always there to support birthdays and holidays with her grandchildren, and she always found a way to make everyone laugh. Beverly was a gifted athlete, artist, and up for any adventure. In her younger days, she played basketball, was a cheerleader for Minnechaug High School, and excelled on the softball field for the Underpass Saloon team. Beverly was a competitive horse rider winning many riding competitions with her beloved Queenie. She was an experienced motorcycle driver, riding the Cape with Walt and chasing after her boys. One of her passions was dancing, including line dancing, the jitterbug, two step, bop and a slow waltz with her husband. Later in life she took up weekend golfing and accomplished two holes in-one. She still holds several bowling records at the Palmer Bowling Alley. Bev opted to obtain a CDL license to drive school buses for both the town of Wilbraham and the city of Springfield. Beverly was also artistically talented. She worked as a licensed professional hairdresser for Henry’s Salon in East Longmeadow, MA. She was a seamstress and proficient at both crocheting and knitting. She made her sons’ clothes and gave them haircuts. Her crocheted blankets and sweaters were lovingly given to family and friends. Beverly and her friend Elsie designed and made numerous unique gifts for Christmas and other holidays. Beverly was an enthusiastic member of the Elks Ludlow Lodge 2448, volunteering her time, with her favorite role being the bingo helper on Sundays. Beverly was a loving and giving wife and mother. She worked to help put Walter through college and graduate school. She was always there taking care of their family and home when Walter was traveling for business. She enjoyed being a sports mom traveling to games to cheer on her sons. Whether she was driving the carpool for youth hockey and little league or traveling to college games, she showed up with her smile, cowbells, and French horn. She managed the family’s life and constantly helped Walter pursue his dreams of teaching in college and eventually the founding of several start-up companies. She willingly traveled and lived across the country to support Walt’s aspirations. Beverly was full of life, could make anyone laugh, and would help anyone in need. She will be sorely missed. She leaves her husband, Walter Presz Jr. of Wilbraham; her three sons; Walter III (Kristin) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Edmond (Nicol) of Huntington Beach, CA, Thomas (Tanya) of Ludlow, MA and her dear friend for 65 years Elsie Carron of Wilbraham. Beverly was Nana to seven grandchildren; Stephanie Presz of Huntington Beach, CA, Katie (Mitch) Metzger of Huntsville, AL, Edmond Presz Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ, Carly Presz of Centennial, CO, Joseph Presz of Gulf Breeze, FL, Benjamin Presz of Ludlow, MA, and Nathan Presz of Ludlow, MA. Beverly had been fighting frontotemporal dementia for 12 years before passing away. Her family is deeply grateful to Baystate Hospice, the caring professionals at Glenmeadow Home Care; Claudette Clarke (9 years), Angella Williams (5 years), Jewel Gaskins (3 years), Barbara Caron (1 year), Dawn (3 years), and Physical Therapist Russell Garrison (4 years), and Nurse Aubrey Davis (2 years) for the wonderful years of help and home care they provided to Beverly. Family and friends may gather for Beverly’s Funeral Mass on Friday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will be private for the family.
