Barbara A. Kwasny

Barbara Ann Kwasny, 84, of Hudson, MA passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023.

Barbara was born on April 12, 1938 in Palmer, MA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Stephanie (Podkowka) Collins, her husband Stanley Kwasny, her son Greg Kwasny, her sister Kathryn Collins and her sister-in-law Joan Kwasny. She leaves behind her devoted son Glen Kwasny and wife Amy, as well as her beloved grandson Kevin Kwasny, her sister Dorothy (Collins) Paluck and husband Richard, her aunt Genevieve Rys and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raised in Ware, she graduated from Ware High School in 1956. She then attended Springfield Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She went on to have an extensive nursing career at Baystate Medical Center until her retirement. Barbara had a variety of interests that kept her busy including her many years of dedication to the BMC Nurses Alumni Association as treasurer, her love of gardening, arts and crafts as well as decorating for every holiday. Above all, Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time and creating fond memories with her family, especially her only grandchild, Kevin.

Her loss will be felt deeply by all who knew her. Her kind and generous nature made her a one of a kind person who brought happiness to everyone she touched. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Barbara’s Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am at St. Patrick’s Church, Springfield. Burial and rites of committal will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield.
