Barbara J. (Jordan) Sweeney

Longtime Wilbraham resident, Barbara (Jordan) Sweeney, 91, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Orchard Valley in Wilbraham. Born in Providence, RI to the late Henry and Barbara (Merithew) Jordan, Barbara was employed at the Hampden County Sherriff�s Dept. for 15 years. She was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Sweeney in 2013. Barbara will be sadly missed by her children; William H. Sweeney of Ludlow, Elizabeth Ann Sweeney of Chicopee, Barbara Jean Lajoie of Jamestown, RI and Mary Katherine Couture of Bernardston, MA, one brother Henry R. Jordan of Kentucky, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held in St. Ann�s Cemetery, Cranston, RI. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
