Arthur Lang Mclaughlin

August 30, 1930 — May 28, 2016

Arthur Lang McLaughlin, 85, died on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Torrington, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur McLaughlin and Bertha (Lang) McLaughlin Brothwell. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served proudly in the Army Air Force. Arthur �Art� received a Bachelor�s Degree from The University of Connecticut in 1958. He worked in purchasing and later in sales during his career. Art was chairman of the building committee that built Hampshire Regional High School. Art enjoyed his Wescon Investment group, playing tennis and skiing with the Stem Christies, and hiking and biking with the 4th Hill group. Survivors include his close friend Sharyl Hill of West Springfield; three daughters: Page McCarthy and her husband John of Worcester, MA; Lee McLaughlin and her husband Joe Noles of Belle Mead, NJ; and Kate McLaughlin of Portland, ME; three grandchildren: Jack McCarthy, Elizabeth and Samuel Noles; brother-in-law Alfred Nunan of Bay Head, NJ; nieces and nephews: Virginia Nunan Meyers, Elizabeth Nunan, Shirley Brothwell, Alfred Nunan, and Samuel Brothwell; an uncle E. Russell Lang of Marlborough, MA; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Beverly McLaughlin Nunan and stepbrother Richard Brothwell. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, June 18th from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham, concluding with a Memorial Service at 10:00 am. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will follow at 11:00 am in Woodland Dell Cemetery, Wilbraham. Memorial contributions may be made to the Agawam Senior Center, 954 Main St., Agawam, MA 01001.
