Anthony T. Serafin, 90, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Martin and Rose (Masiour) Serafin, and for 63 years, was the devoted husband of Wanda S. (Sanko) Serafin. He attended Hartford Public Schools and was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1942, Connecticut Engineering Institute and University of Hartford (Ward School of Electronics). He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard a sub-chaser as a Sonarman in the Atlantic and Pacific areas. He was Service Manager for Thomas A. Edison Industries, Voicewriter Division, in Springfield and was associated with Raymond Packer Co., West Springfield, when he retired. He was a communicant of St. Michael�s Church in East Longmeadow and a member of St. Michael�s Men�s Club. He was a kind, loving father to his three sons; Robert A. Serafin of Enfield, CT, Charles S. Serafin of East Longmeadow and Paul M. Serafin and his wife Kathleen of East Longmeadow. He also leaves two granddaughters; Kristina M. Verdile and her husband Anthony and Karen S. Ford and her husband Kevin, two great grandsons; Anthony Verdile, Jr. and Jack S. Ford, all of East Longmeadow. He is also survived by his brother Martin S. Serafin and his wife Elsie of Newington, CT, his sister in law Mary B. Sanko of West Hartford, CT, five nieces and seven nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Frances Roback of Newington, CT. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and attended many Elderhostel programs throughout the country and Canada. He also enjoyed gardening, golfing and playing Bridge. His sons have fond memories of fishing trips throughout New England �with Dad.� Most important in Tony�s life was family; he was always there to give you his undivided attention. Family and friends may meet for Tony�s Funeral Mass on Monday, May 11th at 10:00 am in St. Michael�s Church, followed by burial in Billings Hill Cemetery, Prospect St., East Longmeadow.
