Andrew E. Schiavi passed away at Bay State Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Leopold and Anna (Fusara) Schiavi. He grew up on the family farm in Framingham, where he developed the strong work ethic, curiosity, and practical outlook that would remain with him throughout his life.

Andrew earned his bachelor's degree in Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute (now the University of Massachusetts Lowell). He went on to enjoy a successful career of more than 30 years with Badger Engineers, where he was respected for his knowledge, dedication, and professionalism. His work also took him around the world, including New Zealand and Korea, giving him the opportunity to experience other cultures and see places he always appreciated.

A lifelong learner, Andrew never lost his passion for understanding the world around him. He could often be found reading about calculus, general science, or the lives and leadership of America's presidents. He was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast who enjoyed a good challenge and was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. His intellectual curiosity remained a defining part of who he was throughout his life.

Above all, Andrew treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Schiavi; his stepdaughter, Vicki Gerry; and his cherished grandchildren, Sam, Adam, and Olivia Gerry. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Robert Schiavi, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Andrew was predeceased by his siblings Mary Mazzarelli, Leo, Dick, Frank, Joe, and John.

Andrew also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Lyla, whose companionship brought him great comfort and joy.

Those who knew Andrew will remember him as a genuinely kind, friendly man with a quiet wit and an easy smile. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel comfortable, and he was well liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his quiet intelligence, steady presence, lifelong love of learning, generosity of spirit, and devotion to those he loved.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. His family is grateful for the love, support, and kindness extended to them during this difficult time and encourages those who knew Andrew to honor his memory in their own personal way.
