Obituary
Ana M. (Martinez) Maldonado, 81, passed away Monday, March 8th, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare in Agawam. She was born in Puerto Rico on August 19, 1939 to the late Juan and Hipolita (Davila) Martinez and predeceased by seven siblings; Elena, Isabel, Aurrora, Petra, Tomas, Juan Nitin and Jose Pepe.  She grew up in Puerto Rico and settled in New York City for many years and then in Springfield, MA in 1979.  She worked for over 28 years as a Program Representative at HAP – Housing Allowance Program (presently Way Finders) in Springfield. She was a former member of St. Catherine's Church for some years and later became a participant of Christian Life Center in Springfield.  Ana was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed traveling, long walks and entertaining family and friends.  Ana was a very caring and compassionate person.

She was the beloved wife of the late Justin “Joe” Maldonado who passed away last year, loving mother of Anabell DeMaio and her husband Salvatore L. DeMaio Jr. of Enfield, Janice DeVane of Springfield, and the late Lillian Maldonado (1998), caring sister of Elisa Melendez of Vineland, NJ, cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren; Brandon A. McTizic and his wife Trudy, Salvatore L. DeMaio III, Thomas G. DeVane III, Nicole J. DeVane and Justin J. DeMaio, John A. Maldonado, Christina Sosa and Aileen Sosa and great grandmother of three; Braidon McTizic, Amariah McTizic and Amora DeVane.

There will be a Funeral Home Service Monday, March 15th at 12:30 PM at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. The calling time will begin at 11 AM until the Memorial Service at 12:30 PM.  Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield.
