Alfred L. Yelle

Alfred L. Yelle 1928 � 2015 Wilbraham Alfred Leo Yelle, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2015, with his family by his side. Born in Springfield to the late Alfred and Lena (Lavigne) Yelle, he lived most of his life in Springfield. He was a proud Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Alfred was a decorated Firefighter for the City of Springfield for 32 years. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Wilbraham Country Club, where he shot his age twice. A communicant of St. Cecilia�s Church, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Cecilia�s Council. Alfred was predeceased by his first wife Agnes (Farrell) Yelle in 1995. He was the beloved husband of Emily Fleury, loving father of Dave Yelle and his wife Gina of Wilbraham, caring brother of Marie LaPierre of Springfield and Claire Jagodowski of Holyoke and devoted grandfather to Haily, Ryan and Hannah Yelle. In addition to his first wife, Alfred was also predeceased by his brother Norman Yelle and his sister Lorraine Gelinas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18th from 4:00 � 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia�s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assn, P.O.
