Obituary
Albert John La Broad, 82, died peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Holyoke Soldiers’ Home. He was born in Springfield to the late Warren and Mary (Eisenmenger) La Broad. A proud Army veteran of the Cold War following World War II, he was stationed in Germany. Albert was a special heavy equipment operator, working for the City of Springfield for many years until his retirement. An avid gardener, he was always available to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Albert will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Carol (Hall) La Broad, son Albert J. La Broad, Jr. of SC, daughters: Tamra Jean Stevens of Brookfield, MA and Elizabeth Ethier and her husband Dean of Wilbraham, brother Joseph La Broad of Ludlow, sister Jacqueline Dunn of Springfield, six cherished grandchildren and six adored great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Albert was also predeceased by his brothers: Wayne, Donnie, Edward and Bernard La Broad. Funeral Service and burial in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery will be scheduled at a future date and time to be announced. Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
