Obituary
Alan E. Thyberg, 74, of Ludlow, Ma., passed away on May 18, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center after a short illness. Alan was born in Springfield, the son of Helena (Maloney) Thyberg and Ephraim S. Thyberg, a local real estate developer who was instrumental in the 1950's and 1960's in developing much of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield and its first shopping center.

Alan leaves his loving wife Janet (Sokolowski) Thyberg as well as his brother-in-law Bruce Sokolowski and his wife Galla of Maryland. In addition he leaves a cousin Martha Tabor and her husband Vernon of Bartlett, Tennessee and sister-in-law Suzanne P. Rockefeller of Melbourne, Florida. He also leaves many friends who knew Alan for his gentleness, kindness and willingness to help others.

Alan graduated from the former Classical High School in Springfield and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam era. He was employed by New England School Supply (Milton Bradley) and retired as supervisor from the Bon Ton in Westfield, Ma.. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham is in charge of the arrangements.
