Alan R Burch, 72, formerly of Wilbraham, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsfield on August 19, 1944, he was the son of the late Harold and Anne (Kane) Burch. Alan, a graduate of the former Classical High School, taught business law at Rutland High School in Vermont. He later owned and operated, for many years, KPK Contracting, named after his children, Keith, Peter, and Katie. He also worked for Paul Davis Restoration as a district manager until his retirement in 2000. He was elected to the Water Commission in Wilbraham, where he served multiple terms. As a long-time member of the Wilbraham United Church, he was Chairman of the Property Commission and was greatly involved in multiple aspects of church life. His love of the Patriots and Red Sox resulted in past bouts of heartache, but more recently led to excessive celebrations as his teams conquered Superbowls and World Series. Not only did he pass on this passion for sports, but he also shared his love of fishing with his children. He leaves his beloved wife of 49 years, Pamela (Creasy) Burch, his loving children, Keith A. (Michele) of South Deerfield, Kate (Thomas) Santaniello of Springfield and Peter A. (Ashley) of Easton, his beloved grandchildren, Mia and Brady and an expected grandchild soon. The Funeral will be held Friday 11am at the Wilbraham United Church, 500 Main St., Wilbraham. Calling hours will be Thursday 4-7 at the Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilbraham United Church, 500 Main St., Wilbraham, MA 01095.
