Adeline Wilk

July 10, 1934 — October 12, 2024

Adeline (Jones) Wilk, age, 90, died peacefully on October 12, 2024 with her children by her side. Born in Johnstown, PA to the late Thomas W. and Mary (Allison) Jones, Adeline lived most of her life in East Longmeadow, MA, raising her four children with her forever love, Arthur. She and Art met in her hometown and were married for 47 years. A graduate of Indiana State Teacher’s College in PA, she was a beloved math teacher at East Longmeadow High School for 25 years and was inducted into the East Longmeadow Teachers Hall of Fame in 2022, an honor shared by a rare few. She also taught at Springfield Technical Community College for 3 years. Adeline, affectionately known as Ad or ‘Nan,’ passionately loved her family, friends and countless students and opened her and Art’s home every Fourth of July for a big celebration and fond reminiscing. She eagerly enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, antiquing and traveling, but most of all, she adored precious time with her family. Loved ones always described Ad as kind, compassionate, gentle, extremely intelligent, creative and very loving. She was extremely generous with her many talents, lovingly making professional-grade, one-of-a-kind, precious gifts for family and friends, including quilts, dolls, and home and holiday decor items, all with her classic, meticulous, crisp style.

In addition to her parents, Adeline is also predeceased by her husband Arthur Wilk and her daughter-in-law Linda Cavanna-Wilk. She is survived by: her four children – Alyson Wilk of East Longmeadow, Gregory Wilk and his wife Jodie of Pittsburg, TX, Jonathan Wilk and his wife Lisa of Manchester by the Sea, MA, and Douglas Wilk of Harrison, NY, as well as her “adopted daughter” Damaris Berkey; brother, Roger Jones of Johnstown, PA; her eight beloved grandchildren whom she adored and showered with unconditional love – Lena (husband Wyatt), Liza (husband Sam), Kailey, (fiancé Noah), Cody, Ryan, Matthew, Dylan, and Alexander; and her first great grandchild, MacDean Arthur.
