Shirley-Ann E. (Denno) Fusco

November 2, 1933 ~ June 16, 2019 (age 85)

Shirley-Ann E. Fusco (85) of Wilbraham, MA passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2019.  She was born November 2, 1933 in Pittsfield, MA, to William E. and Edith J. (Bouton) Denno.  Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.  After earning her degree from Brown University in 1955, she managed the family jewelry store, Denno’s Jewelers, in Pittsfield, MA. 

She married her college sweetheart, Serafino J. (Skee) Fusco in 1961 and they lived and raised their family in Fanwood, NJ, Pittsfield, MA, East Greenwich, RI and McMurray, PA.  After moving to Wilbraham, MA in 1984, she and her husband worked together as small business owners.

She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Church and was an active member of its Women’s Club, serving over the years as Secretary, Treasurer, and President. Shirley was always active in school, community and church groups where she lived, and was a member and past Vice President of the Wilbraham Women’s Club and member of Wilbraham Garden Club. She played golf at the Wilbraham Country Club, and enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and travelling.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband and her sister Evelyn M. Busch. She leaves two daughters, Kathy A. Gittins and her husband Thomas A. Gittins of Southborough, MA, and Carol J. Kressen and her husband N. Parker Kressen of Ellicott City, MD.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Sarah I. Gittins, Jennifer L. Gittins, Kathleen P. Kressen, Joseph N. Kressen and Melissa A. Kressen. Family and friends may meet for Shirley’s Funeral Mass on Monday, June 24th at 11:00 AM in St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. Her family will greet guests at the church from 10:15 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hope-At-Home ministry at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham, MA 01095.
