Florence Heron, a long-time Chicopee resident, died peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Saturday 8/4 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center.
Born in 1937 in Enfield, CT to Charles and Florence Ryan, Flo was first and foremost a dedicated and faithful Witness of Jehovah God. She loved music, sewing, roller-skating and her dogs. She was a skilled and accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by her sister MaryAnn Provost, beloved children Scott, Janet Sbrega, Barbara Sosnicki, Glenn, June Liberty, and Michael, and was predeceased by her husband, James and her son Charles. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Jill Tower, Dawn Imbriglio, Stephan Jr. and Timothy Sosnicki, Glen Heron, Chelsea Wall, Ashley Werrmann, Kelly Fecteau, Melissa Stearns, Christopher Liberty, Michael and Zachary Heron and was predeceased by her granddaughter Rebecca Sosnicki. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Payton and Jordyn Tower, Emilia, Enzo and Luca Imbriglio, Brady Sosnicki, Emerson and Declan Stearns, Drake and Jaxon Heron as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held Friday, 8/10 from 4-6 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday 8/18 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 511 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA. The burial will be private at the family’s convenience.
