Doryce “Dee Dee” Geoffrion (Bower) Keyes, 95, of Ludlow, MA and Naples, FL died on September 5, 2017 in Ludlow, MA. Born November 29, 1921 in Ludlow, MA, daughter of Thomas Smith Bower and Emma (Geoffrion) Bower, she lived in Wilbraham, MA for 80 years before moving to Ludlow. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph Ellsworth Keyes, in 1987 after 38 years of marriage and by her oldest son, Ralph E. Keyes, Jr. in 1999. She also lost a sister, Elva (Bower) Jenkins in 2014.
She graduated from The High School of Commerce in Springfield, MA in 1939 and worked for the Eastern States Farmers Exchange (now Agway) for thirteen years as bookkeeper and then Assistant to the Treasurer. She worked for Industrial Components in Wilbraham, MA for twenty eight years, retiring as Treasurer in 1986.
She is survived by her son Thomas F. Keyes and his wife Nancy of Ludlow, MA with whom she made her home and by daughter-in-law, Donna Keyes of Vero Beach, FL and a sister, Nancy Cosman Ralston of Naples, FL.
She also leaves four beloved grandchildren: Ryan Keyes and his wife Shelley of Vienna, VA, Kathryn Keyes and her wife Heather of Marlboro, MA, and Kayla Keyes and Danielle Keyes, both of Ludlow, MA.
She was very active and drove back and forth to Florida every year. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and was Secretary/Treasurer of The North Wilbraham Social Club (card group). She loved to dance and she and her husband were co-presidents of the Wilbraham Square Dance Club. Later they served as co-presidents of the Square Dance Coordinators Club. She also was a past President of the Wilbraham Community Kindergarten. She was a member of the Wilbraham Senior Center, past member of the Young-at-Heart Club and a lifelong member of Grace Union Church in Wilbraham where she served as Financial Secretary for many years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Dee Dee’s Funeral Service on Saturday at 12:30 pm at Grace Union Church. Burial will be private.
