Dorothy J. (Sweeney) LeBlanc

May 29, 1927 ~ July 25, 2019 (age 92)

Dorothy J. LeBlanc (Sweeney) 92, passed away on July 25, 2019 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion, Mass. She was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29th, 1927, the daughter of Andrew and Carrie Sweeney, the youngest of 12 children. She married the love of her life, the late John R. LeBlanc, in 1948, and together they raised 7 children. She lovingly and tirelessly cared for their family while moving state to state to support the career of John. Wilbraham became their final place to call home, and she became an active member of St. Cecilia’s parish. A true leader, she was president of the women’s club and was the glue of the parish working as secretary at St. Cecilia’s for many years, all while caring for 7 children. She was a talented, patient artist, making beautiful hand painted dolls with clothes she fashioned and sewed. She hand painted ceramics, including entire china sets, that have become family heirlooms. Her passion for life was her family and she was the constant nurturer, epitomizing what a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend should be, being the peacemaker of the entire family. The world is a better place because Dottie was here and her beautiful, kind spirit lives on with those she leaves behind. She was predeceased by her son Lawrence J. of Dudley, Ma.

She leaves her beloved children, John R. of Palm Beach, Fl, Paul E. of Selkirk, NY, Suzanne M. Head of Milwaukee, Wi, Steve D. of Kingswood, Tx, James A. of Crown Point, In. and Michele A. Delaney of Mattapoisett, Ma; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
