Louise A. (McCall) Crawford

Louise A. (McCall) Crawford, 82, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield. Born in Cambridge to the late Owen and Helen (Doherty) McCall, she is survived by her brother Henry McCall and his wife Gail of Chelmsford, MA. Louise was a proud graduate of Boston College School of Nursing, Class 0f 1956. As a Registered Nurse, Louise spent many years as the Supervisor of Visiting Nurses at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, and then worked as a Board of Health Nurse for the Town of Ludlow before retiring. A longtime communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham, she was also a member of their Women’s Club. In her retirement, Louise enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing Scrabble, volunteering at Life Care Center of Wilbraham and spending time with her family. Louise was beloved wife of 56 years to Edward H. Crawford who passed away in June of 2015. She was a loving mother to David E. Crawford of Ludlow, Kathleen M. Dupuis and her husband Scott of Wilbraham, Robert F. Crawford and his wife Maria of Agawam, Anne L. Powers and her husband Russell of Auburn and Elizabeth A. Crawford of Northampton. Louise was devoted grandmother to Andy, Ben, Kelly, Tim, Daniel, Jessie, Amy and Megan and was thrilled to become a great grandmother to Wyatt. Visitation will be held on Friday March 17th from 4:00 – 7:00pm at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Funeral will be Saturday at 10:00am from Wilbraham Funeral Home to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham. A private burial will be at a later date in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Activities Dept. at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing, 807 Wilbraham Rd, Springfield, MA 01109.
